What I'm wearing today.... Travel Day 1: New clients

It's a travel day today but am also meeting clients so want to be dressed up a bit. Like I said, I work in a creative industry where ties aren't the norm but I like wearing ties so if you are going to wear ties they have to be a little bit different and a little bit funky. 

• Top: J.Crew Selvedge Twill Sportcoat on top of Banana Republic pale blue short-sleeved shirt
• Tie: The Hill-Side Natural/Blue striped chambray tie
• Bottom: Muji stone jeans
• Middle: Muji woven belt
• Wrist: Timex Military Watch for J.Crew with blue/stone striped strap
• Feet: Muji Chukkas

 

What I'm Wearing Today.... Dad's chauffeur service

It's Dad butler & chauffeur service today starting with breakfast for the kids, drop the dog at doggy daycare (truly), take kids to Tae Kwon Do, lunch then movies for the kids, pick up dog, dinner, bath, read, play & sleep. Obviously I need an outfit that's versatile and can work and will last all those scenarios.

• Middle: GAP blue/white striped scout belt
• Wrist: Timex Military Watch for J.Crew with khaki strap
• Feet: Johnston & Murphy boot with moc toe

NB. I ended up just wearing my Old Navy flip flops which I regretted as it was raining heavily today. I changed to a Banana Republic Navy Henley for the movies with my Hugo Boss Dary Grey Zip Sweater in case it got cold, which it always does. Ended up handing the sweater to the kids and luckily had the Our Legacy Tweed jacket in the car so I could break it in!

What I'm wearing.... Company Offsite

It's company offsite day which is a weird form of ritualistic team bonding with a majority of people you know semi-well. Ours will be on a boat no-less, which is why my outfit is slightly nautical themed;

• Top: Uniqlo pale blue button-down polo shirt
• Bottom: Muji stone jeans
• Middle: Muji woven belt
• Wrist: Timex Military Watch for J.Crew with khaki/red striped strap
• Feet: Rockport deck shoes (sockless) 

What I'm Wearing... Travel Day 3

It's fly-back-home day but not before a 2-hour breakfast meeting. 

• Jacket: J.Crew Selvedge Twill Sportcoat
• Shirt: Banana Republic checked shirt
• Pocket Square: J.Crew Checked Pocket Square
• Belt: Muji weave belt, brown
• Watch: Citizen Eco-Drive
• Jeans: Muji black jeans
• Boots: Muji Chukkas
• Socks: Banana Republic blue socks 

I also added a Muji cotton-knit tie and J.Crew sterling silver tie bar for the flight home. 

 

What I'm wearing.... Travel Day 2

Meetings today but mostly internal so am going a little cas (as in casual) today. Still loving my Selvedge Twill Jacket so wearing that again, plus it's cold in the office!

It's a travel day today so I typically use this opportunity to wear a tie. No one knows what business you're in and it always helps at immigration.
