Sorry I've been away for a while but now I'm back....
For whatever reason I've always been intimidated by the Massimo Dutti stores. I don't know what it is whether it's the rich-looking displays or the price tags right in the window or the unknown brand I've never felt comfortable entering their shops. But in the search of the perfect corduroy jeans I decided to take a chance so I entered their store and I must say I was pleasantly surprised by their offering. Great quality jackets, blazers, trousers, sweater and shirts in that American preppy style. Think of it as a J.Crew with a touch of Italian cool.
After looking at a lot of different items I was distracted by this jacket. Yeah, I thought I had maxed out on my jacket acquisition but two things convinced me I should buy just one more. Of course, it met my minimum requirements of being unlined or at the most, partially lined. The first thing that attracted me was the colour; in a blue/white diagonally-striped I knew it would add a different element to my wardrobe. The second and most important thing was the fit and feel. Described in the lining as "super fine cotton" as soon as popped it on I knew I had to have this jacket. This jacket felt super soft and smooth as soon I slipped it on. Aided by that super fine cotton and probably by the lining in the sleeve it felt silky smooth whilst staying cool & breathable throughout the day. And priced at SGD$300 it didn't exactly break the bank which was another pleasant surprise about this brand.
By the way, I never found those corduroy jeans but more on that later.
